The activity of "making art" can contain a shamanistic, esoteric act of self-purging; of emptying that which fouls the soul and smothers the creators dream and waking life. Much like Jung suggests in his interpretations of dreams, the visions are one's own and somehow he/she must come to find the truth, the secret buried within the mysterious symbolic language, largely hidden in the unconscious.


To create art and the activity involved is one of ritual in that it is a practiced skill and physical undertaking done repeatedly over time.
